This is the Apex Tactical 100067 Forward Set Sear & Trigger Kit. It’s a drop-in unit that replaces the factory trigger assembly in your M&P (full-size, Compact, or Shield—double-check your model fit, but it covers most). The big difference here is the forward-set sear geometry. Instead of the trigger break happening way back near the frame, it moves that break forward, closer to where your finger naturally sits. That means less reach, less creep, and a trigger pull that feels like a single-action 1911, but in a striker-fired polymer frame.

The trigger body itself is machined from aircraft-grade aluminum, then black hard anodized. That’s not just for looks—it’s tough, wear-resistant, and will outlast the rest of the gun. The face is smooth, with a center pivoting safety that won’t pinch or snag. It’s assembled and ready to go out of the box, so you’re not messing with tiny springs or sear engagement adjustments. Just swap it in, function-check, and you’re good to go.

You get two trigger return springs in the kit: a silver spring that gives you roughly a 4-pound pull, and a green spring that bumps it to about 5 pounds. Both are clean, consistent, and reduce both uptake and overtravel significantly compared to stock. The break is clean, with no grit or stacking. It’s a smooth pull all the way through, then a sharp wall and a reset that’s short and positive. You can literally feel the difference the first time you press the trigger.
