This Swedish M41 started life in 1900 as a Carl Gustafs Stads Gevärsfaktori rifle and was rebuilt into M41 sniper configuration between about 1941 and 1943. It is chambered in 6.5x55mm with a 29.5-inch round barrel, and the bore is bright with strong, well-defined rifling. Serial numbers do not match. The scope is the correct m/42 AGA 3x65 with clear glass.

The metal has thinned to a light grey patina, the stock is very good with light handling impressions, and the action cycles smoothly and functions as it should. Montana FWP sets no caliber or magazine limit for game animals, so a 6.5x55 is a lawful deer and elk rifle in the Oct. 24 to Nov. 29 general season, though a collector-grade military rifle with a period scope will more often stay in the safe. Anyone who does carry it needs 400 square inches of hunter orange above the waist.
