Serial no. 5546. Manufactured in 1888 by Spandau Arsenal, chambered in 11mm Mauser, 32″ round barrel. Bore is bright with strong, well-defined rifling noted. Serial numbers are matching throughout, including the sling swivel. Barrel finish is beginning to thin while retaining the majority of its original factory blue. Receiver remains in the bright with sharp, well-defined factory markings. Stock is in very good condition with minimal handling impressions and crisp inspection markings noted on the right side. A particularly attractive and well-preserved example of Germany’s first standard-issue repeating military rifle, made during the final year of Model 1871/84 production. Action is smooth and functions correctly.
