The Sako 90 S Hunter is a bolt-action hunting rifle chambered in .308 Winchester with a 20-inch barrel that is threaded at the muzzle. The metal is blued and the stock is checkered wood, a classic layout rather than a synthetic one. Note the condition facts as given: the listing marks it used, while the supplier describes the gun as new and the photo is a stock image, so ask before you buy if the grade matters to you.

A short-barreled .308 bolt gun suits the Montana hunter who climbs. The 20-inch barrel keeps the rifle compact on a pack and quick in dark timber, and the general deer and elk season from Oct. 24 to Nov. 29, plus the earlier backcountry openers in districts 150, 280 and 316, is where it fits. FWP sets no caliber or magazine limit for game animals, and rifles are lawful outside the weapons restriction areas, so the .308 is a sound all-round choice for deer and elk.
