Tikka's T3X Lite in the Veil Alpine edition is a bolt-action hunting rifle in 6.5 PRC with a 24.3-inch barrel that is fluted, threaded and capped with a flash hider. Metal is Cerakoted in Desert Verde, the synthetic stock wears Veil Alpine camo, and the receiver is drilled and tapped for an optic mount. The supplier marks it new with a stock photo; the catalog grade reads used.

A 6.5 PRC bolt gun in a camo synthetic stock fits Montana's backcountry hunting districts 150, 280 and 316, which open earlier than the Oct. 24 to Nov. 29 general deer and elk season, and FWP sets no caliber or magazine limit for game animals. The threaded muzzle and the optic-ready receiver leave room to set the rifle up the way you want before opening day. Add 400 square inches of hunter orange above the waist and you are legal.
