A Walter Brend Model 5 custom knife bearing serial number 002, an early piece from this master bladesmith. The 10-inch blade is an upswept spear point, double hollow ground and hand-rubbed to a satin finish. Construction is full tang, with a satin titanium guard and micarta scales secured by ten stainless steel pins, and there is a lanyard hole at the butt. The supplier grades it excellent and sells it used.

It comes with its original leather sheath and a sharpening stone, both by Byrds Leather. One oddity: the sheath's retaining strap was never finished, left long with no top snap, which the supplier suggests may be down to how early in the run this knife was made. For a Montana buyer this is a collector's knife first, a documented low number from a master bladesmith, though the big hollow-ground blade is a real working tool. Store it out of the sheath when damp.
