Beretta's 686 Silver Pigeon I in 12 gauge is an over-and-under field gun with 28-inch vent rib barrels, 3-inch chambers and removable chokes, with five extra chokes included. The barrels are blued against a stainless steel receiver cut with floral engraving, and the wood is checkered with an oil finish. Supplier text calls it new and uses a stock photo, while the catalog entry lists it as used.

With slugs or 0/00 buckshot a 12-gauge over-and-under is a lawful deer and elk gun in Montana, and one of the few options in weapons restriction areas that exclude rifles. The 2026 general season runs Oct. 24 to Nov. 29, after the Sept. 5 to Oct. 18 archery window and the Oct. 15 to 16 youth deer hunt. Outside those dates the 28-inch barrels and choke set cover clays and field work, and hunter orange is required when hunting: 400 square inches above the waist.
