A Remington 1100 in trap configuration, made around 1978. It is a 12-gauge semi-automatic with a 30-inch barrel carrying a high vent rib, a 2 3/4-inch chamber and a fixed full choke. The receiver is engraved, the metal blued, and the checkered walnut Monte Carlo stock measures 14.5 inches to the red Remington pad.

The wood shows heavy handling marks and moderate wear, though no cracks, and the bluing has a speckled patina; the action is smooth and the bore excellent. A 30-inch full-choke gun with a Monte Carlo stock is a trap gun first. Montana allows shotguns with slugs or 0/00 buckshot for deer and elk in the Oct. 24 to Nov. 29 general season, so it could go afield, but buy it for the trap line, which is what it was built for and where the long barrel and high rib make sense.
